How to watch Hulu in Australia

One of the great things about my trip to New York was being able to watch a bunch of programs on Hulu. Hulu is a great service available in the US that lets you watch current programs over the Internet. There are a bunch of great shows on offer like House, Lost, Dollhouse and other shows not yet shown in Australia like Modern Family.

Unfortunately when I got back to Australia, licensing rules and IP addresses stopped me.

Learn how to set up Hulu to watch outside of the US.

Starting 2010 in New York City

It’s 2010 and I am in New York City! It is so cold, but this won’t stop me getting out and about!
While I am here in New York I hope to visit:

The Museum of Modern Art. There is a Tim Burton exhibition running until April that I hear is fantastic.

The Guggenheim Museum. The Kadinsky, is coming to a close on Jan 13, 2010.

A View from the Bridge. I am super excited to see Scarlet Johansson’s Broadway debut in A View from the Bridge, the new revival of Arthur Miller’s classic tragedy.

Airtoons is back

I am not sure how long the new site has been up, but I just rediscovered one of my favourite websites from 2000, Airtoons.com.

Airtoons is a parody site of airline safety cards and had me in stitches on planes in North America in 2000.

Worldmate releases iPhone app, finally!

Worldmate has finally released an iPhone app. Worldmate used to be my travel itinerary manager of choice when I worked off a blackberry, but I switched to TripIt when I began using my iPhone. Although neither had an iPhone “app”, at least Tripit had a iphone friendly browsing experience. At the time (July 08?) Worldmate’s stance was that their users didn’t have iphones so they had no plans for iPhone product development. I guess they must have …

Xpand Xpresso Breakfast – Buzznumbers

Last Friday I was invited to the inaugural Xpand Xpresso Breakfast. Xpand is a recruitment firm specialising in IT and digital media recruitment. Nick Holmes à Court, CEO at BuzzNumbers, spoke on Actionable Insights into Social Media.

Most of the audience asked questions around whether big corporates were actually listening or even cared about their presence in Social Media, how the Buzznumbers technology worked and ways companies could get a head start on seeding influencers.
